Often times we hear questions such as " What are the community benefits of a United Way? Why should a nonprofit agency join? What does the community gain for it’s donations? How do I benefit by giving to United Way of Galveston? How does the Galveston community benefit from my donation?"

Our response is simple yet confident. United Way of Galveston agency membership does provide a benefit to the community. Our member agencies are approved for membership based upon their sound operational and management practices, sound financial practices, and strong leadership. When one sees a United Way sign in a local nonprofit organization, one sees a seal of approval.  

United Way of Galveston strives to invest funds into the community with community investment grants helping to foster collaboration in target areas - education, income and health. A community investment review committee scrutinizes each grant submission seeking to target donated dollars to areas of greatest community need. UWG wants the best results using efficient and effective effort that is represented through true collaboration. Not only collaboration between nonprofit organizations but with nonprofit organization and government, faith-based, business, education and other community partners. Throughout the year, donors will see their hard-earned dollars donated through the United Way of Galveston campaign at work. We can demonstrate outcomes for the investment.
